2009 Internet Fools' Day April 1, 2009

WestJet, a Canadian airline, wrote a newspaper article a few years back saying they had lower flight prices because their research had determined that if they got their passengers to hold their arms up and straight out during flight, the airplane would get better fuel mileage. It got a lot of people writing letters to the editor thanking them.
